Swing Things

It’s been a swinging summer for ITS. Earlier, we released our new CD, In The Swing on Route 66, and we’ve been gigging (and giggling) all over the Bay Area at our favorite venues: Le Bateau Ivre, Kensington Circus Pub , Caffe Trieste, and many others. We had a ball on a flatbed truck at the Danville Fourth of July Parade, and we sang the National Anthem for the opening of the Solano County Fair, followed by a swinging set in competition with the tractor pull and pie-eating contest. Sadly, our application to sing the National Anthem at the kickoff of the Republican presidential debate was rejected out of hand (some guy named Trump suggested that we were off-key). Nevertheless, we persevere: after a couple of private gigs to finish out August, on Saturday, September 12, we’ll have our first appearance at the fabulous Monkey House at 1638 University Avenue between Sacramento & MLK Drive. One of Berkeley’s hidden treasures, this intimate, unique venue presents seasoned performers for hip, in-the-know audiences.   It’s a double bill, and we’ll be appearing with the Babshad Jazzz, featuring Barbara Hadenfeldt. If you only see one ITS performance for the rest of 2015, this should be the one!!  But, if you miss us at the MonkeyHouse, you can catch us  on Saturday, September 26, when we return to Caffe Trieste on San Pablo at Dwight Way. Best coffee ever! We’ll be up all night!

Be sure to check out our new, improved website at www.intheswing.net. You can listen to some tunes, check out our videos and even order a CD, should the spirit move you. Keep on swingin’!!
